Indian toilets are globally called as the Squat toilet seats for the user gets to exercise squatting regularly.

They can be found in nations like China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Singapore. Much of the world's rural population uses squat toilets especially in the developing countries.

In Southern and Eastern Europe Indian squat toilets are common, especially in public sectors. America has a mixed culture. While they are generally non-existent in Northern and Western Europe.

This squatting position in Indian toilets increases the blood circulation and adds more of pressure and churning of the food in stomach.

The squatting position completely evacuates the stool from the colon in our body, so obviously this reduces the risk of constipation, appendicitis and factors leading to the colon cancer incidences.

The squatting position on the Indian pots resembles the Malasana pose which causes the stomach muscles to stretch, opens the hips and relieves the stress from the thigh to the neck region, enhancing the spinal comfort.

It increases the blood flow in the pelvis region and controls the urinary incontinence (leakage) process.

The Muladhara chakra is nurtured reducing the anxiety and dysfunction in autonomous nervous system, moreover, giving a calming feeling to the practitioners.

It tones the leg muscles, abdominals, aids in digestion and strengthens the metabolism




It keeps the rectum straight and rectal muscles relaxed.

Indian toilet users have  lower risks of urinary tract infections and skin infections due to minimal contact with the toilet surface.

In a few cultures, the prevalence of squat toilets is generally quite high, as is the practice of anal cleansing with water using a bucket system. Where as the use of tissue in the western toilet system will never be able to compensate the litres of water wasted in the flush.

As compared to the western toilets, Indian toilets impose minimal pressure on the uterus and prepares the pregnant lady for an easy delivery.

Indian toilets are safe and beneficial except for the ones having knee injury, lower back  disabilities and pregnancy-related -complications.
